Patriotism

Strength, Freedom, Equality! "I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the republic for which it stands, one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for ALL." Our Pledge of Allegiance is something that is super important to us. Everyone in America deserves equal rights; no one should be liked more than someone else. It doesn’t matter if your black, white, Hispanic or anything. And it for sure doesn’t matter if you’re straight or Gay. You are human and that is all that matters. No one should ever judge anyone; no one is perfect. Patriotism is the love and devotion that you have toward your country. Many people today ask. “Does Patriotism still matter?” What do you think? I definitely believe that Patriotism still matters. Patriotism to me means everyone is treated fair, the love to your country, respecting the rights and laws we have and following them. I respect my country; I treat all people with respect. And I do have love for my country. Freedom. That is a word that not most other people can say; we are lucky that in America that we have freedom. But I think that in a way we abuse it, and chose to judge people that are different. If everyone were the same, the earth would be a boring place. One example of patriotism is when there was a female pilot and she was the number one person, as an Air Force pilot! She was famous for her work. And was moving to the number one spot. But one little thing that someone said knocked her down. Her dreams were crushed by one person because she is a. A lesbian. She wanted to be a pilot to serve her country. But someone was jealous of her and crushed her hopes and dreams.
Something that we all need to figure out is that. Patriotism does still matter. I feel people are starting to forget. Racism hurts people, and we are not respecting the country and its laws. Remember that our country has freedom and rights; don’t disrespect them!
